“Some truths can’t be muted.”

Behind our comfort zones often lie unseen costs. We bury inconvenient truths in silence, and mistake indifference for calm. But we forget — everything we choose to ignore eventually leaves us lacking.

BACK

STAGE

For this project, we developed a stylized 3D animation using hand-drawn 2D textures and custom shading techniques.

Created for TEMA Foundation, “Notification” is a short film focused on the impact of thermal power plants. From scripting to design and animation, Kabuk Studio handled the entire creative process. The character was designed in a simple, universal form that anyone could relate to. The story is told through a sequence of visual notifications. It begins with the visible consequences of large-scale energy production and gradually moves into the home — highlighting how small daily habits like unnecessary shopping or leaving lights on can silently contribute to a larger problem. Just because we don’t see where energy comes from doesn’t mean it doesn’t come at a cost.

It was a meaningful project for us — both visually and conceptually.
